If you have recently lost Five, Five USA and Fiver channels on TV in Spain then you will need a new white replacement Sky card, as your old blue Sky card has been deactivated and you are getting a "This programme is not available" message (March 2010).
You can still watch Five for free without a Sky card using an
alternate frequency. More

Have you lost TTon4? Has your Channel 4 viewing on TTon4 gone? TTon4 is no longer available
Sky are issuing replacement viewing cards. All subscription and Freesatfromsky
viewing cards are being
replaced with new white sky viewing cards. Your old "blue yellow house" sky card is
expected to expire early 2010.

"ITV1 Central S" and "ITV1 Central E" (ITV Central South and ITV Central East) have been removed from Astra 2D and have reappeared on the Astra 2B South beam.
A Sky viewing card is required for these regions, that used to be free to air - no sky card required.
You can add these ITV1 regions using Other Channels.
The frequency is:
11973 V 27500 2/3
Its on Astra 2B south beam, so very easy to receive even on a smaller 60cm dish in many areas of Spain
as this is a much stronger frequency than those on Astra 2D - reception will be similar to Sky News!
I have no idea for how long these will be available or if this is going to be permanent

Many UK TV channels can be received in Spain on an 80cm dish. You will not
be bale to receive the main BBC and ITV channels (they are on the weaker
Astra 2d satellite) but you can get enough channels to keep you in tough
with the world - like BBC News, BBC Radios, a few music channels, a few
movie channel, ideal for a holiday home, where it may not be worth while
installing a big dish for BBC and ITV reception!

You can receive channel like BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5 for free without
a Sky viewing card in Spain, but reception is limited to a big dish, and even
then full 24/7 viewing of these channels may be limited in the Costa Blanca.
The best (and only) satellites for UK TV in Spain are the Astra 2 satellites - with free to
air channel from the BBC and ITV to pay TV packages operated by Sky and ESPN. UK
TV channels are only available on Astra 2 frequencies.

SKY VIEWING CARDS / NEW REPLACEMENT WHITE SKY CARDS
You still require a Sky Viewing card to watch Fiver and Five USA - these are free to view channels and require a new white sky viewing card (either freesatfromsky or Sky subscription card). These channels are NOT available on Freesat or without a Sky viewing card.
From April 2009 Sky have been issuing new white Sky replacement viewing cards. These new white Sky cards will replace you old "Blue Yellow House" Sky viewing cards, that have been deactivated March 2010. More HERE
Again you cannot receive Freeview in Spain. Freeview is a UK only digital TV service. The nearest Freeview transmitter is in Cornwall - the Freeview signal cannot be received in Spain!

If you request a Freesat system, and you are supplied with a receiver without the Freesat logo, then you are not getting Freesat - including the Freesat programme guide and interactive features. Freesat is more than just channels, it is also the functions of the receiver as well!

UKTV Direct from the satellites: Our UK TV systems come direct from the main UK TV satellites (Astra 2 and Eurobird). Any other system offering UK TV from any other satellites are illegally rebroadcasting them without the channels permissions.
European Law allows the viewing of Free to Air TV channels from another country - but even under "Television Without Frontiers" and "AVMS" EU Directives, you are NOT given the automatic right to watch all UK TV Channels in Spain! More details here

And you can only get Sky TV in Spain by using an official Sky TV Viewing card. If you are getting Sky TV subscription channels in Spain without using a Sky TV Viewing card then you are getting the channels illegally.
Irish TV Channels on Sky: The Irish TV channels (RTE, TG3, TV3) and the Ireland variations of UK channels (Channel 4, Sky One Ireland) require a Sky viewing card to be viewed. This card needs to be registered at and address in Ireland.

DIGITAL TERRESTRIAL TELEVISION (TDT) - SPANISH "FREEVIEW" TV SYSTEM
Television Digital Terrestrial (TDT) – Spain's “Freeview” TV - Around 30 Crystal Clear Digital Spanish TV channels via your TV aerial. Areas of Spain will lose their analogue signals on 31st December 2009 as part of the analogue switch off scheme. Other areas will lose their analogue TV signals in April 2010. More here...
Spanish TDT - Digital TV required three components: a TV aerial, an masthead amplifier and power supply, and a TDT Digital TV receiver (this is built into many flat screen Plasma and LCD TVs these day, otherwise you will require a separate TDT Set Top Box / decoder)
You cannot receive ANY UK TV channels via TDT - it is a Spanish broadcast system only. However, in many cases, UK and USA imported programmes can be watched in their own language (i.e. English)
Spanish TDT - Many programmes on Spanish Digital Terrestrial TDT care broadcast with two audio soundtracks, meaning that in many cases, many programmes from the UK and USA can be watched in English simply by pressing a button on your remote control to change the language from Spanish to English.
Spanish TDT - UK Freeview boxes may work in Spain and the Costa Blanca, but they may have some issues that may mean that they do not work 100% correctly.
