BBC IPLAYER ON FREESAT TV RECIEVERS
BBC iPlayer is a service that lets you catch up with radio and television
programmes from the past week.
If you are in the UK and connected to the internet you can:
Find and play programmes from the past seven days and watch them on the
website through Click to Play (streaming). This works on Windows, Macs,
Linux, Nintendo Wii and iPhones - and we're working on more ways.
Download and stream HD programmes.
Access BBC iPlayer on certain mobile phones.
Download programmes onto your computer, if it supports BBC iPlayer Desktop.
If you are outside the UK and connected to the internet you can:
Listen live and listen again to most of our radio programmes
Recently BBCIplayer has been made available to Freesat HD receivers,
specifically Humax HD receivers.
And later in 2010 the ITV Iplayer services will also be added to the Freesat
receivers.
Sony have also released their latest software (1.630SA) to enable BBC
iPlayer on all their Freesat built-in Sony televisions. If you have one of
these televisions, you should now be able to access BBC iPlayer from BBC1 by
pressing the red button followed by code 5483. Other manufacturers will be
added as and when they have carried out the initial testing with the BBCi
Tech Team. All Freesat HD receivers are expected to have BBC iPlayer enabled
within the next few months.

Using BBC Iplayer outside the UK
Rights agreements mean that BBC iPlayer television programmes are only
available to users to download or stream (Click to Play) in the UK. However,
we are aware of demand for an international version.
Most radio programmes are available outside the UK in addition to podcasts,
although sporting and other programmes may be subject to rights agreements.
In addition, highlights from many of BBC News' programmes are available for
viewers outside the UK, as is BBC Sport video content.
It is possible to access Iplayer outside the UK by configuring your router
to a UK server, be this a proxy server or Virtual Private Network (VPN)
service.
