UK Freeview Frequencies
You cannot receive Freeview in Spain.
Freeview is not the same as Freesat – a common misconception - even by some satellite installers here in Spain who do not know the difference!!! Although the channel line up is similar on both the Freeview and Freesat TV systems.
"Freeview" is the brand name of a UK Digital TV service ONLY AVAILABLE IN THE UK. It is NOT available in Spain. Freeview is transmitted in the UK only by the local TV transmitters, and is only receivable via a TV aerial.
Freeview TV Frequencies
These are the frequencies used by Freeview in the UK.
For the UK, due to regional variations of BBC and ITV and C4, you can find that the frequencies for some channels will vary from mast to mast.
The final frequencies for Freeview will not be determined for a few years yet until after Digital Switch Over.
Many of the same frequencies are also used in Spain for TDT. But as Spanish TV does not have regional variations of their channels their frequencies are almost the same over most of Spain.
TDT uses channels: 58, 62, 66, 67, 68, 69 for their main TDT channels. Some other frequencies are used for some local channels.
You will note that the UK Freeview TV system uses frequencies up to frequency / channels 68. Spain uses channels / frequency 69, and in some cases using a Freeview receiver in Spain may not work 100% as it will be unable to scan this channel / frequency 69 - and so missing out on a number of popular channels.
