ITV HD on a Sky HD digibox Costa Blanca Spain
Initially the ITV HD (High Definition) service was only available on a Freesat receiver / set top box and was not available on a Sky HD digibox.
In 2010, ITV1 HD joined the Sky EPG, on Sky channel 178
However, there are various versions of ITV1 HD, on two different frequencies. Which version you are allocated on Sky channel 178 is determined by the registered UK address used for your Sky card.
There are "free to air" versions of ITV1HD, one on a weaker frequency (similar to BBC2 England) and on a stronger frequency (similar to ITV2 reception)
There was also a "free to view" version, which was on a very strong signal. This used to be on frequency 11973, but has been moved to another frequency. This version of ITV1HD was able to be received on a small 80cm dish across most of Spain, but it is no longer available on a small satellite dish.
Follow the guide below to input the ITV HD channels frequency into your Sky HD receiver.
How to Add ITV HD channel to your Sky HD box
Press TV Guide on your Sky remote control to enter the EPG.
Press the Up Arrow on the Sky remote control to give the top menu bar focus. It defaults to TV Guide.
Now use the Left or Right Arrow keys to move along through the options until you reach the Options menu.
Use the Down Arrow key to move the focus back to the middle menu bar. Sky+ Setup is the default option.
Use the Left or Right Arrow keys to move through the options to get to the Add Channels option.
Press the Down Arrow key to give the main body of the menu focus.
Here you need to enter the frequency, polarisation, symbol rate and forward error correction (FEC) values of the satellite transponder upon which the ITV HD channel is broadcast. Use the Sky remote control's numerical keys to add the frequency and the Left/Right Arrow keys to change the polarisation. The other two values are suitable in their default states. Enter the following:

When the values are input, press the Yellow button on your remote to Find Channels.
The HD digibox will now scan for the channels on that frequency.
After a moment, the Sky HD box will display the TV services it has found. ITV HD is labelled as “ITV1HD Region”. Use the Down Arrow on the remote to highlight that option, then press the Yellow button on the remote control to Store Channel.
A small tick icon will appear next to the ITV1HD region you have selected. You can now save your changes by pressing the Select button on the remote.
The Sky HD box will confirm that it has saved the channel. Press Select to continue
How to view ITV HD on your Sky HD box
Follow the steps above to get to the Options menu.
Press the Left or Right or Arrow buttons to select Other Channels.
Press the Down Arrow, then highlight the "ITV1HD" option. Press Select once to show a preview in the mini-TV, or twice to go to view ITV HD.
