Lost Channel 4 in Spain and have a Sky card – try this…
If you have lost the normal version of Channel 4 on 104 on your Sky box, then it may be possible to still receive Channel 4 ( and E4 and More 4), as long as you have a Sky card.
Although the free “England” version of Channel Four may not be available, it may be possible for you to receive the Irish versions of Cannel Four.
These are encrypted and require a sky card to access.
Channel 4 Ireland is available with a non subscription viewing card.
E4 Ireland and More4 Ireland are available with a Sky subscription card.
How to add the Irish Channel Four to your Sky box.
Press services
Go to “Add Channels”
Input the frequency 12480 V 27.5 2/3
Find Channels
A list of some channel will appear, if your dish is big enough to receive them.
Included in this list are the Irish versions of Channel 4, E4 and More4
Navigate to the channels, and press the yellow button placing a “tick” next to the channel.
When done, press select to save the channel..
Rather than access channel 4 via Sky Channel 104, simply press Services, go to Other Channels, and select Channel 4…
And you should not have Channel 4 back.
UPDATE :
9th February 2016:
If you were using the “Irish” versions of channel four, then they have moved today to a new frequency on the UK beam, the same beam as the BBC and ITVs…
So if you could not receive English versions of Channel Four, then you will now no longer be able to get the Irish versions either!

Switched everything off. Got my cannels back but not channel 4 etc. Will not try again! Better safe than sorry!
If you follow the process correctly, doing this should not make you lose all channels.
All it does is ask your box to scan and store channels on a different frequency.
It is possible if that frequency is unavailable where you are, it may “block” the box, but as you found , a simply reboot and everything comes back.

It does work, if your dish is large enough, if your dish is aligned correctly, if you are in an area that you can actually receive the signals, and if you have a valid working sky card.

how do you input a frequency using a remote control?
You push the desired numbers on the remote to input the frequency.
YOu press left and right should it be necessary to change the other settings
Great got the channels, any more codes for ITV and BBC
All BBC channels are already of the Sky guide – so you do not have to add anything.
AS BBCs and ITVs are all on the same satellite, on the same beam, usually if you cannot get them via the channel list, then you will not get them by any other means.
C4 is difference as the Irish C4 I on a different satellite and beam to the free “uk” versions are, hence its better reception.

I’ve got a technomate 5402hd box with a sky subscription. I’m struggling to get channel 4 using your instructions. The signal is too weak on this frequency. I’m getting e4 hd, more 4 hd and film 4 hd OK.
Any ideas?

If the signal is too weak, then your dish is not large enough, or your dish needs realignment.
YOu wil gete4 hd, more 4 hd and film 4 hd as they are on a different satellite beam to their SD versions.
Tried your get Channel4 back, it works but I need a Sky Viewing card my old 077 278 448does not work. I have been using FreeSat, Sky box been in storage.
Yes, like it says it need a non subscription viewing card – a “white” sky card that is working!
Blue cards do not work, do not open any channels, and only do the regionalisation for 101, 102, 103, 104 and 105.

what i did to get irish channels back was to delete them
then re entered 12840 etc they then came back
ps i live in north tenerife

I think you mean 12480 and not 12840!
But they will stop transmitting on 12480 soon, as they have not moved to a new frequency on the UK beam…
