    Satellite installation for two TV's

    Hi Jon

Will it be possible to have a bedroom TV working at the same time as the main TV but on a different channel
If so will we have to have a separate receiver in the bedroom
If this was possible, could we record a different channel from those on the two TV's, at the same time
Do you get any easy questions

    Regards
    Pavlo

    Hi Pavlo,
To watch 2 different satellite channels at the same time you will require two satellite recivers.
To watch 2 different Sky subscription channels at the same time you will require 2 sky cards (read 2 subscriptions!)
You can link up a video / dvd recorder to those recievers and record those channels.
Note a Sky+ machine would be abale to record 2 Sky subscription channels at the same time - with one card and for one subscritpion!!
    Hope this helps

    Hi Jon
Thanks for that info. Perhaps, to avoid having two receivers, we could route the signal either to the main TV or to the Bedroom TV We probably wouldn't want to watch both at the same time. I was just wondering how flexible the system would be. Don't want much do I ??
    Thanks again

    HI,

you can link up a reciever to other tv's two ways.
the first is via coax cable running between the two - although this is a bit tricky as some spanish TV's do not use the same audio frequency as the UK Sky receiver - its OK for most new flat screen and tvs bought in the UK.

the second is via an audio visual wireless transmitter. these can allow you to watch tv up to 50meters away from the main base transmitter. It does not have the complexities of the coax sound issues (as long as the TV has a scart / euro socket!), but the signals can be disrupted by some wireless phones, microwave and wireless internet hubs (the frequencies they all emit are sooooo close toegther there is some interference).

    Hi Jon
Thanks for that info. The wireless link sounds favourite if not too expensive. Parts of our underbuild are tricky to access. Perhaps we'll look at the options when you come to see us.
    regards
