    New Sky HD EPG Default transponder problems

    Hi,

    New Finder and cannot change Transponder

    In the last week, the Sky Guide has changed style, now today we have lost both signal strengths (on Sky+ HD) and we cannot change the transponder to 12.129

    any ideas?

    We live in Alicante

    you can access the secret "installer set up menu" on the new EPG a number of ways...

    TV Guide 0 01 Select

    or

    0 1 SELECT on picture settings menu

    or

    SERVICES, RIGHT, DOWN, 01 SELECT

    in there you can change the default transponder....

    this is assuming the new EPGs data is available on other frequencies...which i am currently checking out


    you may also want to make sure the LNB settings are as they should...

    have been checking out the new HD EPG default tranponder....

    someone, whiththe same iisue suggetsed changing the default trandponder to another that only carries HD channels.....

    1. If a switch on it says no signal and 29 in the video window box then.
    2. Press TV Guide Button.
    3. go to the top (Fuctions) Bar.
    4. scroll thru to Settings menu.
    5. scroll down to "Picture".
    6. then press 0,1,select quickly to get to service menu.
    7. scoll across to TX`PONDER.
    8. If it says 11.856 V as it did on mine change to 10.714 H.*****
    9. reboot and hopefilly all is back to normal.

    *****other HD frequencies to try that may carry some EPG data are below.

    11720 H
    SR 29500
    FEC 3/4

    11798 H
    SR 29500
    FEC 3/4

    12344 H
    SR 29500
    FEC 3/4

    if this helps please let me know..then I shall post the solution onto the main site....i have not hd boxes with the new epg available at the moment!
    if this does not work then it may mean that those people inspain with a small dish may not be able to use the new sky hd epg...and may render their skyhd boxes useless....
    but please confirm if what i have gven you is working..

    Hi,

    Thanks for the reply.

    After a couple of hours all the channels suddenly came back on. Not sure if the problem was at Sky's end. We had no signal strength on either LNB 1 or 2. so we just left the TV on and it suddenly came back on just before 8 PM CET.

    We can get to the transponder now, but the problem was no signal, which I don't know why that happened.

    sorry forgot to mention that we had full EPG before we lost the signal strength and again after the signal strength came back

    hi,

    if the EPG is only transmitted on one frequency, and this is a north beam satellite signal (which i think it is), then you will not be able to getthe new HD EPG all day -

    the north beams are weakest from mid afternoon to early evening...

    which may explain why it all came back on again at 8pm.
