    Power to LNB

    Hi,
With a twin / quad LNB setup on a 1.4 dish, how many receivers ( sky or generic ) have power to LNB set to ON - 1 or all?
    Many Thanks
    Don

    Re: Power to LNB

    Hi

Have I got this right. with a quad LNB ALL recievers will have to be powered on to recieve a signal. Initialy we were just going to use 2 recievers and uae more as the situation demanded. Also as the dish is to be shared between 2 houses, wil my neigbour have to have their reciever on in order to recieve my signal?

A quad LNB will work with one, two, three or four receivers.
For a receiver to get a signal from the LNB the receiver must be switched on.
A sky box, by default, is set to send power to the LNB - i think it is used as part of the polarisation switching process.
A quad LNB sends four seperate signals down all four outputs to up to four seperate receivers.

Your neighbour will not be getting your signal, he wil be getting his own down his own cable. His receiver will be supplying power to his output on the LNB. your receiver will not be sending power to his output of the LNB..

i think this answers your question....
