English Premier League worldwide broadcaster rights are sold on a territory by territory basis. Generally these deals are done on a three year contract – eg 2012/13 to 2015/16, and 2016/17 to 2019/20. There can be some exception to the rule, as seen by the Premier League’s recent deal with American broadcaster NBC Universal is for six years, covers all Premier League matches in seasons 2016-17 to 2021-22.
