Piles, Valencia, Spain

Piles is a town in the Safor area in the Comunidad Valenciana, Spain.

Census had a population of 2,842 inhabitants in 2010 (INE) .

The town is practically flat, altered only by the passage cross or Beneteixir Palm Canyon, which borders the town to the north.

The coast consists of 1.5 km of playa or beach.

The climate is Mediterranean climate.

The origin of the town seems to be in a small Muslim farmhouse dependent Rebollet castle, together with it conquered in 1240 by Jaime I.1 At that time the current municipality was largely swamp.  Its history has been linked to the County and Duchy of Gandia Oliva, who perteneció.1 With the expulsion of the Moors, was almost uninhabited, being repopulated by Old Christians.

Piles Beach began to urbanize in the first half of the twentieth century with modern apartment blocks, with the expansion of tourism in the early 1970.
