Eurosport has launched a high definition simulcast of Eurosport 2 in parts of Europe, but has no immediate plans to bring the channel to the UK.

Eurosport 2 HD will be available in 20 different European territories, including Sweden, Denmark and Poland, but not in the UK.

In response, a Eurosport spokesman said: “In terms of the UK offer, until the volume of native HD content rises on the British version of Eurosport 2 we will continue to review the situation.”

This move follows the UK launch of a high definition simulcast of Eurosport International on Sky in July 2008.
