The BBC wants to export its new digital pay-TV channels to 16 foreign countries, including Germany. The channels are already available in several markets, including Scandinavia, Poland and South Africa. In addition to Germany, the broadcaster is also considering expansion into France and Spain.

BBC�s international portfolio comprises BBC Knowledge, BBC Lifestyle and BBC Entertainment as well as the high definition service BBC HD.
These channels show a selection of BBC and C4 programmes, and is basically a replacement of BBC Prime. Whereas BBC Primes shows programmes from all sorts of genres, BBC Knowledge, BBC Lifestyle and BBC Entertainment split the programmes on BBC Prime accordingly.
