TRACE Sports launches in the UK on Sky
TRACE Sports, the first entertainment channel dedicated entirely to sporting celebrities, makes its debut on Sky’s pay TV platform on Monday 16 April at 9pm (Sky Channel 460).
The channel has a different approach to sports broadcasting with a focus on behind the scenes footage and exclusive interviews with popular sporting stars.
From major international heroes such as Usain Bolt, Lance Armstrong, and Roger Federer, to acclaimed British champions like Lewis Hamilton, Mark Cavendish, and Rio Ferdinand, TRACE Sports promises to cover all the bases.
The channel’s programming includes 100 days to go, a special series in the run up to the London 2012 Olympic Games and lifestyle magazine Number 5 presented by Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand. Other programming includes Fighting Spirit a profile of ‘Blade Runner’ Oscar Pistorius and Body & Soul following double gold medal-winning swimmer Rebecca Adlington as she prepares for July’s games.
Rob Webster, director of Sky’s commercial group, said, “We’re delighted to welcome Trace Sports to our pay TV line-up. With a fresh and distinctive approach to sports broadcasting, Trace will offer Sky’s customers a new and interesting perspective on the lives of our sporting heroes. This will be a big summer of sports for Sky customers, in HD, 3D and on the go and Trace will only extend the choice and quality available to Sky customers.”
