Sky On Demand problems this weekend
Since Friday 9th October 2015, some users of the Sky On Demand service may have been experiencing problems in downloading content.
Sky have acknowledge that there has been problems since Friday.
We know you had problems accessing Sky TV on demand this evening and you may have see a message displayed on your TV saying: ‘There are no programmes of this type available’.
Latest news: the service is currently up and running and we’ll provide further updates if the fault re-occurs.
We’re sorry for any inconvenience caused.
Problems also occurred on Saturday 10th October 2015, but the problem was reported to be corrected later that night
The On Demand service has been restored. We will continue to monitor the stability of the service and will provide further updates should the issue re-occur.
Thanks for your patience.
I’m in Cabopino, Marbella and I have my Sky UK card with me. I have a 1.3mtr dish but now I don’t seem to be able to get PBS America, Spike, Really and a couple of other channels. Has something changed with e transmissions? Can I do something to get these lost channels? I’m getting about 65% Signal Strength and 90% Signal Quality. Thanks for any help.
PBS, Spike, and Really are free to air channels, so available without your sky card.
They are all on the UK beam of the satellites, and your dish is simply too small to receive them where you are. So without increasing the size of your dish (like 3 or 4m !) you will not be able to receive these channels.
Some channels only recently moved to the uk beam – see this more recent post https://www.satandpcguy.com/blog/2015/12/new-freesat-channels-launching-8th-december-2015/ )
The signal test screen on your Sky box is for one frequency only – the Sky default transponder frequency. UK TV uses about 100 plus frequencies, which is not displayed on that test screen.
