The FA Cup is set to be broadcast exclusively on free-to-air television from the 2021-22 season
According to a report published in the Times, ITV have reached an agreement with the FA over a four-year package from the start of the 2021-22 campaign that will guarantee a larger television audience for the oldest national football competition in the world.
The move will see ITV join the BBC as rights holders for the competition.
The BBC will have the rights to broadcast up to 18 live matches a season, in addition to the highlights and online highlights, while ITV will gain the larger package on offer and will broadcast up to 30 games as the senior partner.
The package for which ITV is believed to have bid successfully for is currently held by BT Sport, who have shared the rights with the BBC since 2014.
The Times report added that the BBC and ITV will likely share live coverage of the final, which was previously the case from 1955 until 1988.
