Humax Freesat Guide and Failed Recording Problems
It appears that there are problems today with Humax Freesat boxes, from missing guide data and failed recordings and recordings missing from their planner.
Several clients have mentioned this evening that their Humax Freesat boxes have been behaving strangely during the day.
– Recordings have been missed.
– Recordings have failed.
– Recordings not appearing in their planner.
– Unable to make a recording with the box saying it is already recording.
There have also been posts on a few of the technical forums
“Having same problem. Recorded programmes haven’t recorded today. So annoying. Hopefully it’ll get fixed soon., ”
“Similar problem with my HDR Foxsats – Freesat doesn’t seem to be transmitting the info/code that allows Accurate Recording to work. I changed to ‘padded’ recordings, i.e +/- 5mins, and that at least started recording. ”
“I can press record whilst a programme is on and it seems to record ok, but it won’t work on timed. Tried factory reset still no joy.”
It appears that there could be an issue with the data that the guide / planners on Humax Freesat boxes uses, and will have to be corrected by Freesat or Huamx before the boxes start to work properly again.
The “padded time” trick seems to have worked, where you add some padding to the start and end of the recording…but obviously this may not work if you are doing consecutive recordings, as the overlap may mean a recording failure.
For HDR-1000s / 1010s
Home / Settings / General Settings / Recording / Start Padding & End Padding
Options are Auto, 2 mins, 5 mins, 10 mins
