Next phase of BBC HD upgrade delayed?
It appears that there has been a slight delay in the next phase of BBC HD upgrades.
Viewers in London, West and South West England, plus the Channel Islands are next on the list of regions to be upgraded.
The upgrades were scheduled to take place on Monday 13th February for Freesat users, and Tuesday 14th for Sky users.
However,
the BBC HD upgrade webpage has demanded some dates, and pushed these dates back by 24 hours.
This delay would seem to be confirmed by the fact that the frequency ( 10.788 V ) that these BBC One HD regions were meant to be transmitted from, still (as of Saturday), have no tests on it.
Earlier this week, the BBC had completed the clearance of this frequency 10.788 V of all channels in preparation to convert it to HD – as posted here
On Thursday, frequency 10.788 v was reconfigured for HD ( 23.000, 3/4, DVB-S2, 8PSK ) on Thursday morning. As per previous HD upgrades, tests for BBC One West HD, BBC One South West HD and BBC One Channel Islands HD were set up within hours commenced within hours.
Then, strangely, by by Thursday evening, the tests had been removed. And then 10.788 v reverted from its HD configuration, back to its SD configuration. And still empyt of any channels.
