Old Sky Digibox Pace 2600 in 2024 – UK TV SD Channel Closures – BBC SD Channels closed down
Viewers using an old grey Sky digibox will be seeing the number of channels that they can view has drastically reduced.
Many UK TV channels have moved to broadcasting exclusively in HD, which makes them unavailable on older Standard Definition digiboxes
On the 8th and 9th of January 2024 a change on satellite tv will see the shutdown of all BBC channels on older SD-only boxes, along with three ITV SD channels.
And later in 2024, Sky will also be making some changes, again impacting users with older SD-only boxes.
This means that households who are still using very old, SD-Only boxes on either Freesat or Sky, will have to replace their boxes by those dates, otherwise, they won’t be able to watch the BBC’s live channels, and some of ITV’s channels.

So as you can see, although the Pace 2600 Sky Digibox will work, the number of UK TV satellite channels available on these digiboxes is slowly reducing. And you will need to upgrade to at least a Sky HD digibox to continue to watch UK TV via satellite.
