Tiny Pop to Close as UK Kids’ TV Landscape Shifts
While Disney Jr makes its big return to Sky this week, another familiar children’s channel is preparing to say goodbye. Tiny Pop, the long-running UK kids’ network loved for shows like Molang, Barbie Dreamhouse Adventures, and Super Wings, is set to close its linear TV service by December 2025.
Owner Narrative Entertainment confirmed that both Tiny Pop and its sister channel POP will disappear from traditional broadcast platforms, including Sky, Virgin Media, and Freeview. The company cited the rapid decline of children’s linear TV viewership — now estimated to be just a fraction of what it was a decade ago — as the main reason behind the shutdown.
However, this isn’t the end for Tiny Pop. The brand will live on digitally, with its shows expected to move to FAST (Free Ad-Supported TV) streaming channels and online apps, ensuring children can still enjoy its programming on connected TVs and smart devices.
Tiny Pop’s closure marks another major shift in the UK’s evolving kids’ TV scene — one that sees Disney returning to broadcast while others move fully online, reflecting just how divided modern viewing habits have become.
