Freeview FAQs – Why can I not receive Freeview in Spain?

Freeview is a UK only TV service received via a TV aerial.

Freeview is transmitted by land based TV masts, like Emley Moor and Crystal Palace.

The Freeivew signals from these land based transmitters simply do not reach Spain.

The nearest Freeview transmitter to Spain is in the Channel Islands. Its signals simply do not reach Spain. Not only is the transmitter not powerful enough to send the signals to Spain, but those UK Freeview signals will also have to compete with the similar signal frequencies for the equivalent French and Spanish “Freeview” signals.
