If freesat come from a satellite eg Astra then if I buy a freesat receiver and a dish could I then receive Freesat broadcasts in Southern Ireland ???

And the long answer is....

The channels available on Freesat are transmitted from the 4 satellites in the 28.2 to 28.5 degrees east of south location.

Their coverage of the UK and ROI is quite good, so a dish and Freesat receiver will allow you to watch the FTA channels on these satellites.

As will a sky box withoiut a viewing card...

As will a generic (IE non Freesat or Sky) receiver....although these generics will not have the Freesat or Sky software in them so their EPG and "red button" options will be limited.
