Default Transponder Frequency Changes

If you use 12129 as the Default Transponder Frequency setting to help your Sky digibox boot up, then on the 31st May 2012, this frequency was not carrying any channels, and no longer helped in booting a Sky box up.

You can use an alternate Frequency code of
12207 v 27.5 2/3 - the Sky News frequency
12051 v 27.5 2/3 - Turner Channels
11895 V 27.5 2/3 - MTV group of channels
12285 V 27.5 2/3 - Sky Living

In fact you can use any frequency that you know you can actually receive.

Standard definition Sky boxes: Services, 4, 0, 1, select, 2, input your frequency, save settings, Sky button

High definition Sky boxes: Services, 0, 0, 1, select, right, down, input your frequency, green to save, Sky button

The date and time will appear on the screen - the first indication the signals are being received from the satellite.

Programme banner will populate with Sky channel 998 - Sky Intro.

You may still get "no signal" message for Sky chanenls 998, but as long as the programme banner is populated your channels will be working.

Default Transponder Frequency Changes - no signal messages on your Sky digibox.

If you use 12129 as the Default Transponder Frequency setting to help your Sky digibox boot up, then you may be finding this no longer works, and you may just be seeing "no satellite signal" messages on your Sky box.

This is beacause, on the 31st May 2012, this frequency was no longer carrying any channels, as the S4C channel moved from that frequency.

This means that this frequency is no longer able to help in booting a Sky box up.

So, if, for example after a power cut, you needed to use 12129 as the default transponder frequency on your Sky digibox in Spain then you will now need to use the new default transponder frequency setting.

You can use Frequency code of 12207 v 27.5 2/3 as the new the new default transponder frequency setting for Spain.

How to change the default transponder on Sky standard definition boxes:
Services, 4, 0, 1, select, 2, input frequency, save settings, sky button.

How to change the default transponder on Sky High definition boxes:
Services, 0, 0, 1, right to txponder, input frequency, save settings by pressing the green button.
