    BBC1 Lost - and found.

In October I lost BBC1 from my TV in Ciudad Quesada (2.3m dish). I rescanned my Dark Box receiver twice without any luck - it still came up with 'bad or scrambled channel'
On my satellite list there was an Astra 3A/1D so I did a channel scan.
It came up with a long list of Disney channels (locked) and all the BBC1 regional channels -
    and a few BBC2's.

When I want to watch BBC1 I have to change satellite to Astra 3A/1D - everything else is still on Astra2.

Can someone enlighten me? - and why have I never had BBC3 or 4?

    Hi and welcome.

You may have lost channels in October as the BBC did move a few channels to other frequencies - http://www.satandpcguy.com/forum/sho...n-October-2012
Hence the bad signals if you tried to watch chanenls that were no longer on the frequency you had stored.

On a darkbox, and a few other receivers, it really makes no difference which satellite in the satellite list you select to scan for, as it will scan frequencies it has for that satellite, and update with any new frequencies it finds.
Frequencies are not exclusive to just one satellite.
So although you are scanning for frequencies using the frequency list for 3A, as your dish is pointing towards Astra 2, its the Astra 2 frequencies the box will pick up.

BBC3 and BBC4 only transmit from 7pm UK time.
They share their frequencies with CBBC and CBeebies, which cease tranmission at 7pm UK time.

So scan before 7pm, and you will see CBBC and CBeebies, which will show BBC3 and BBC4 come 7pm.
So scan after 7pm, and you will see BBC3 and BBC4.

Thanks for that, but I've never had CBBC or CBeebies either - maybe I have another problem!

    In that case either:
your receiver is not scanning their frequencies (10773 H and 10818 V) - which is strange as you say it is getting all bbc regions, some of which are on these frequencies

or your dish is not aligned properly - which is strange as you say it is getting all bbc regions, some of which are on these frequencies
