lost channel - Sky News

Hi,
We have had over the last few days lost Sky News. All the other general "freeview" channels are still being received eg. BBC1,BBC2,all ITV channels etc.so it seemed weird that when we try to get Sky News it says "no satellite signal being received".

When ever we reset the system usually after a power cut we use the transponder number 12207, and when "adding a channel" use Sky News. Can you please give us any suggestions, even though we do not watch Sky News that much, only when my husband switched over to it to avoid the endless adverts!!!!!!

Hello and welcome.

Sky News (the standard definition version) is on frequency 12207.

It may have something to do with the fact you are adding sky news as an "other channel"?

When you do have to "reset the system usually after a power cut", you do not actually have to add a channel.
Simply changing the default transponder will get the box up and running.
No need to "adding a channel".
And this may be confusing the box....?

Simply Press
Services, 4, 0, 1 (or 0 0 1 for HD boxes), select, default transponder, input the frequency, and save settings.
Then press the SKy button and wait for channel 998 to load in.

Adding channels as part of this process does nothing, so it is pointless in doing so.


It would be strange of you can watch the "added" sky news and not the sky news on 501 as they wil be using hte same frequency!
