sky + box will not work

Hello sat and pc guy
I have an Amstrad sky + box and when we tried it a couple of months ago it worked.
Now when connected up to the dish it wont work at all
Normally the date alters right away but even that stays the same,and a "no signal " message appears.
Our other sky digi box works fine. any ideas why it wont work please ?

I also note that you use a Technomate ..which is the best model for recording and playback in Spain and do they have the Humax facility of watching one program and recoding another off one sat cable (although I know its limited)

Have you changed the default transponder frequency to help the sky box acquire the signal and download the EPG?

If you have, are you using a frequency that WORKS? Some frequencies that were "popular" are not longer working.

Are you using both input or only one? in which case have you connected the feed from the dish to Input 1?

If you have a Sky subscription, then the best receivers for recording and playback in Spain are the sky+ and Sky+HD.
If you do not have a Sky subscription, then the Freesat+ range are ideal.

I Use a Technomate - but it for other satellites and other things. It does not have a 7 day programme guide (only "now and next", nor does it have twin tuners to allow "watch one and record another" at the same time. Recording is on a USB stick, but only the channel that is being watched.
