A Sky box will always try to reverts back to 11778 whenever ever it can.
This is because 11778 is the ONLY frequency that carries the full 7 day Sky Guide programme data.
The default transponder simply tells the Sky box where to download this EPG data, once the box has been powered OFF (standby should be no problems)
You change it to another frequency to help the sky box download the data once powering on the box, when it cannot get it from 11778, as all other frequencies carry 6-12 hours of Sky Guide data.
If you have channels already, then there is no need to change the DT - as it will do nothing - as the box already has the channel list loaded.
Changing the DT when you have channels and the Sky Guide data does nothing - not even for individual channel reception.
Also, many Sky boxes automatically revert back to 11778 even if it gets a "sniff" of 11778...no matter if you have saved the DT as something else.
