BSkyB has placed what could be a decisive bid for the Virgin Media Television (VMTV) channels being auctioned off by the cable TV operator. Various other bixs are also thought ot have been made, including bids from Channel 4.The Financial Times reported on Friday that BSkyB had bid some £160m (€183m) for the VMTV channels that include Living TV, Challenge and Bravo.

The UK TV channels, VMTV’s joint venture with BBC Worldwide, which including GOLD, Watch and Dave is subject to a separate offer because of the BBC’s right of first refusal.
