    Old Sky Cards

I still have an old Sky Blue Card (with the yellow house), but it is currently not in use with my Sky box, and I understand that I can still receive certain free channels without the card. But my Sky box is going to be unconnected for several months, will it all start working again with or without the card when I return to using it probably next February.

Sorry if this seems a dumb question

    Re: Old Sky Cards

    Hi

A sky box without a sky card will still be able toreceive all the free to air channels.

Even after being uncconnected for a few months

However, if u have askyc ard, these do require a signal from the satellite to keep the card "alive" and if these signals are not received for a few months the cards can either "go to sleep" and may be able to be woken up, or may diue completely

    Re: Old Sky Cards

Many thanks for your reply. I only receive the free to air channels anyway, I can't get BBC2 and even with my Sky card don't get C5 etc, so don't really see the need for the card anyway.

    Once again many thanks
