DVD/TV RECORDING WITH USB

Hi...Is there such an animal as a DVD recorder with hard drive that will record from the TV, play CD's and DVD's , and have a USB connection to allow a seperate hard drive to be plugged in to download films onto the DVD hard drive,or to play a film straight thro to the TV.
If not how do I acheive the above ?

Yes they do exist, and the USB player built in is becoming more and more popular, as it saves having to burn things to CD all the time to play them.

However, some of them may not play external hard disk drive, but may only play USB "pendrives".
