A question many have asked, so here goes...

List correct as at February 2012

Here are all the free to air (ie no sky card required) channels that you can receive on a small (80cm or 1m) satellite dish in the Costa Blanca region of Spain.

(this is just a general guide and will very depending on your location)

for the free to air channels - a free to air digital satellite receiver (be it generic, freesat or sky receiver)

for information: UK TV is beamed from 5 satellites, Astra 2a, Astra 2b, Astra 1n, Astra 2d and eurobird 1.
Astra 2a and b have north and south beams, with the north beam chanels being a bit "tricky" to get all day.
Astra 2d is the weak beam satellite with bbc and itv and c4 on
