Internet Forum Definition
An Internet forum, or message board, is an online discussion site. It is the modern equivalent of a traditional bulletin board, and a technological evolution of the dialup bulletin board system. From a technological standpoint, forums or boards are web applications managing user-generated content.
People participating in an Internet forum can build bonds with each other and interest groups will easily form around a topic's discussion, subjects dealt with in or around sections in the forum.

Forum rules
In order for everyone to get the most enjoyment from our forums we do ask that all who would like to post messages follow the rules and guidelines outlined below.
Rule 1: Be Polite
It also should go without saying that swearing, profanity, sexual references, etc. should be used in moderation. Remember that we may have readers of all ages.
Rule 2: Stay on Topic
Rule 3: No live links to other sites - unless agreed with the moderators via PM.
Cancel the live link by placing a "_" before the url ie _www.example.
We will try and remove them for you , but persistant live link posters may be banned or removed.
Rule 4: No Spam
If a member asks for help finding a company or a tradesman that can help them, by all means offer your services.
Purposely spamming a message board with senseless, vacuous, or empty messages to gain a higher post count, or just to annoy others is HIGHLY frowned upon! Commercial spamming and advertising are just as unwelcome.
Affiliate linking is not allowed.
Rule 5: Impersonating Other Users / Accessing Another User('s)Account
You may not impersonate another board member or create an account specifically for the purpose of provoking other users. Also, accessing or using someone else's account or attempting to access another poster's account is strictly prohibited. You will be banned.
Rule 6: Piracy, Hacking, Cardsharing and Warez
Absolutely no warez. Linking or giving information about any site that distributes illegal software, or warez, seeking help to circumvent any copyright laws, or encouraging software or media piracy is grounds for an immediate ban. Posting of hacks, softcam keys or card sharing details is prohibited.
Rule 7: Nudity/Porn
Please remember that this board is a 'PUBLIC' forum. There are 12 year olds here just as there are 50 year olds. Nudity and porn is prohibited for obvious reasons.
Rule 8: This is an English speaking forum, please type your post in English.
Rule 9: Please do not use the forums to complain about companies or individuals.
We are not in a position to be held liable for defamatory content on our site over which we know nothing about. Therefore, please do not mention any company names or their staff if you have any complaints.
Rule 10: Please do not post your (or others) email address or other personal data
Some unscrupulous people out there can get information and use it to Spam you, they can do this if you post your email address or personal details on the forum.
Rule 11: All opinions posted on these message boards are the opinion solely of the poster and do not necessarily reflect the opinion of The Sat and PC Guy, or hosting service.
Rule 12: Editing of posts by Administrators or Moderators
From time to time a post might be edited by a forum administrator or moderator.
Please dont take this to heart, we are trying to help you.
From time to time we might see fit to have to remove some content that can be deemed as putting the forums in a position that can result in legal action. This is a rare occurrence, but it has happened.
Rule 13: Links In Signatures
Linking to a commercial product/service is fine, provided it is not a product or service that competes with a product or service offered by Sat and PC Guy.
Promotional text for a commercial product or service is ok, provided there are no price(s) of product(s) or service(s) listed.
Staff will ultimately decide if something is appropriate or not.
Rule 14: The moderators and owner have the final say on posts.
If you disagree them contact the moderators via PM, not by posting on the forum. Public discussions of staff decisions are not permitted on the site. Ultimately, staff has complete discretion over what is and is not acceptable on the site.
Rule 15: Usernames.
No commerical or offensive user names are allowed.
No usernames that are similar to other users.
No usernames that have "TV" or "SAT" or "SATELLITE" are allowed.
If you break the rules…
While we all have the best of intentions occasionally mistakes happen. Unfortunately there will be people who sometimes try to goad others into acting in a manner they would otherwise avoid. Many of us can get on each other's nerves occasionally either by accident or on purpose. When this happens sometimes things are posted that are later regretted. This happens to the best of us, and with a quick apology you can usually repair any damage done.
In addition to the occasional loss of temper, there are a few out there who seem to enjoy causing trouble. They will post inappropriate information in various forums and make comments with intent to start flame wars, add spam, etc.
To keep such occurrences to a minimum, this forum has moderators who read the forums and try to keep things polite and on topic.
If posts occur that break any of the above rules the moderators may take some or all of the following actions, often without warning:
Remember that posting on this forum (or any Internet forum, for that matter) is a privilege, NOT A RIGHT. Please treat it that way. If your posts are locked, edited or deleted due to one of the issues outlined above do not be offended or take it personally. Evaluate what you posted and think about why it might have been. If you have any questions as to why your post was locked or you lost posting rights, please feel free to use the contact us button at the bottom of every page or contact the Moderators via private message.
