    Re: fine tuning dish

    Hi,

Fine tuning will have to be done by moving the dish.
You are talking mm in fine tuning - and this is where "beeper" units fail.

If you have to best to start on a strong channel, like Sky News, then to a BBC1 regions, then a BBC2 region - so you go from strong to weak...and fine tune the dish like that (obviously do it at a time when BBC is either starting to come in or starting to go - depending on your location on the CB!) . Makes no difference if you ahve the card in or not - these are free to air channels that require no card!

The signal meter on the 440 (services, 4, 5) will only really measure the one frequency of 11778 (a northbeam frequency)...so not much use really, as the 440 does not like these north beam frequencies much (in fact the 440 are pretty poor performers for a 1.8m dish i only use them on small dish installataions!)

    Re: fine tuning dish

Hi ...sapcg Thank you...I only got the Pace 440 after the recommendation on your website !!
So what is the strogest box i can get ...for the 1.8 dish? we live in Albatera so we struggle anyway. What do you think to the Maplin BT4U Passion +HD box you can get a B grade for 99.99.

Also Why does my 440 keep loosing all the stations we put in..no power cuts....and its not on stand by...but a couple of times a week we have to reprogram it to get all the itv channels etc back again ?
    Thanks
    Ken

    Hi
I only got the Pace 440 after the recommendation on your website !!
    A bit confused.
I do not think I have ever recommened using a 440 or 445 for a big dish system in Spain, they are however suitable for small dish installations...
(if it is on my site please point me to the area and I shall change it ASAP!)
The Pace 2600 and 430 are a lot better.
I have no idea about the Maplin reciever.
BUt some HD receiver do have sensitive tuners in the and so can perform well.

I have no idea why the Pace 440 is losing its channels...may be it is one of the very early very bad batch of 440s there were....
