Canal Digitaal (Dutch satellite) HD upgrade

The Dutch DTH platform Canal Digitaal Satelliet will conclude its HD upgrade next week with the addition of RTL5 HD, RTL7H D, Net5 HD and Veronica HD. The operator now claims the best HD offer in The Netherlands with 27 HD channels.

The expansion of the HD offer was announced earlier this year and on April 15th, the final phase of the operation will take place with the addition of the four new HD channels.

The full HD line-up now consists of Nederland 1, 2 and 3 HD, three RTL channels RTL 4 HD, RTL 5 HD and RTL 7 HD (only RTL8 HD will not be part of the package for the time being), as well as all three SBS channels, SBS6 HD, Net 5 HD and Veronica HD. The three public channels are available to all smart card holders at no cost, while the HD option for the other channels costs €5.00 monthly.

The HD offer also includes Brava HDTV, NatGeo HD, Discovery HD, History HD, VRT Een HD, Eurosport HD and MTVN HD. In addition, people can receive the free-to-air HD channels Das Erste HD, ZDF HD, Arte HD, Eins Festival HD, BBC HD, ITV HD, LuxeTV HD, Annixe HD and Servus HD.

Film1 HD and Sport1 HD are available as a premium option, bringing the total of HD channels available to 27.
