The Portuguese audiovisual regulator has announced its plan to implement the analog switch off.

This must be completed within two years, by 26 April 2012, and will consist of three phases, just like in Spain.

The first, scheduled for January 7, 2012, will affect the entire coastal strip.

The second, scheduled for March 22 of that year, will take place in the Azores and Madeira.

Finally the third and final phase will affect the rest of the country and will take place on April 26, 2012.

At the moment it is only a draft timetable has been submitted to the concerned operators Portugal Telecom, RTP, TVI and SIC).
