Hi Guys,
I wonder if anyone has encountered this problem; I install and fault find sky and fresat in southern spain using a Maxpeak satellite meter. most installs and problems are easy, align dish, peak it and bingo !! sky or freesat but twice now I have gone out to realign a sat dish and even though my meter is saying similar readings as normal I can only get a signal strength reading and lock indicator saying ok, no signal quality reading, transport stream or network id and more importantly NO television pictures. no matter what I do I cannot get the normal readings and a picture, any ideas ??

The signal test screen on Sky boxes measures one frequency: 11778. Its on a "north beam" frequency, and is weakest at 5pm, and requries very sensitive skew angle. If you can get sky channel 998 then you should have 11778 strength and quality on the test screen - they are on similar frequencies.
Also, different boxes have different tuners and they all report the signal test screen differently. The Pace 2600 love the north beams better than the 440 or 445
Or check the LNB setting son the "install" screen..if they have been changed then the box performs stragely.

Thanks for that info but I also use a test sky box that I know works in case the customer unit is faulty and both receivers show the same problem. still can't figure it out, weird or what ??
