ESPN to offer free weekend

ESPN has confirmed plans to offer a free weekend of sport later this month, including Scottish Premier League games and Aviva Premiership Rugby action.

From 6am on September 10 to 6am on September 13, ESPN and ESPN HD will be available without charge to all customers on Sky, Virgin Media, TalkTalk TV and UPC. However, this offer will, like previous offers, only be available to Sky viewers with a Sky viewing card, and may not be available to viewers wihout a Sky viewing card.

So even with a Freesatfromsky viewing card - also incorrectly known as a freesat card or freeview card - you should be able to watch ESPN this weekend.

The weekend will include matches from the Italian Serie A and German Bundesliga, but no action from the English Premier League.

Bundesliga: Hoffenheim vs FC Schalke (7.30pm)

September 11

Scottish Premier League: Hamilton vs Rangers (11.30am)
Aviva Premiership Rugby: Leicester Tigers vs Exeter Chiefs (4.45pm)
Serie A: Cesena vs AC Milan (7.45pm)

September 12

Aviva Premiership Rugby: Saracens vs Sale Sharks (2.15pm)
Bundesliga: FC Koln vs FC St. Pauli (5:15pm)
Serie A: Napoli vs Bari (7.45pm)

ESPN on Sky Channel 417 - has a Free to View weekend, starting today.

As it is Free to View, you need a working Sky card to view this ESPN Sports channel.

ESPN have NO English Premier League football this weekend (probably why they have chosen this weekend to go free!), but do have matches from the Guiness Rugby Premiership, and the Bundesliga. And a fair bit of American Sport.

ESPN UK is available on Sky Channel 417, and should be available around the Costa of Spain on an 80cm to 1m dish.

ESPN UK HD is also Free to View this weekend - on Sky HD channel 442 - and should be easily available in Spain even on a 60cm dish!!
