Have had installed a 2.4m dish and can receive most of the channels so I have decided to upgrade my sky package to movies for Xmas only problem is on these channels i have the message 'no satellite signal received' does this mean I can not receive these channels at all. Can someone help this is all new to me.

some of the sky movie channels (Sky Movies Action & Thriller Sky Movies Comedy Sky Movies Sci-Fi & Horror Sky Movies Classics Sky Movies Indie Sky Movies Family Sky Movies Drama ) are on Astra 2a NORTH beam. this beam can be tricky to receive at certain times of the day.

in my area (gandia) these channels are worst from around 4pm til 7pm ish. there are a handful of channels (Like UK PEople, UK Food+1, Dave+1, Sky SPorts news, Hallmark, Eurosport 2, Sky 2 and 3) that are also on this wekare bea,m and tend to go off during the afternoon.
if you cannot get these channels at all at any time of the day then i would suggestyour LNB Skew (angle) may need tweeking.

Sky Movies Modern Greats Sky Movies Screen 2 Sky Movies Premiere +1 are on a stronger signal and should be available all day.

thanks for that have just checked and have sky modern greats but none of the others forgive my lack of knowledge of techie talk but what is LNB skew?

LNB skew refers to the rotation agnle of the LNB in its holder.
this angle is very very critical and even a slight afdjustment can mean more channels last longer, or less channels lasting less.
any competant installer should be able to install the LNB at the optimum skew angle.
