Humax hd box best english post code

just bought a humax hd box and have put an english post code in but have since been told some are better than others ,is this true and if so can you change the one you have entered,i live inland of alicante Hondon de las nieves and am using a 1.9 andrews channel master dish with an inverto twin lnb.

Postcodes on a Freesat box determine which BBC1 region, bbc2 egion itv1 region, itv1 hd region and five you are allocated on 101, 102, 103, 105 etc.

Some BBC1 regions have better reception that others, some BBC2 regions have better reception than others, some ITV1 regions have better reception than others, some ITV1 HD regions have better reception than others, and some Five regions have better reception than others.

Instead of worrying about the best BBC1 region, just use BBC1HD...thats what he HD box is bets for.
And all BBC regions are already onthe Freesat channel list anyway, and are all accessiable onthe hcannel list no matter what postcode you input
The "best" ITV1 HD region is ITV1HD Granada, so use a Manchester postcode for this.

So yes, some postcodes are better than others, but it may allocate you a good BBC1 on 101, but a poor ITV on 103.

Since yesterday most of the ITV, C4, E4 and More 4 channels, including the ITV regional stuff have been moved from Astra 2D to Astra 1N satellite (with the same frequencies, so no receiver update should be necessary) which give vastly better signals.
Here in Calpe we can now use our old Hampshire postcode to get ITV HD and BBC1 South, but, as satandpcguy says, just use BBC1 HD / BBCHD when the regional signal breaks up!
I am led to believe that the BBC MIGHT be moving their channels as well, cos BBC News from 10803H on Astra 2D is absolute rubbish!!

This is possible. In the last few days all other channels apart from BBCs have moved from 2D onto 1N. (Today Irish, Disney, Nicks and a few Sky Sports Red button services moved: http://www.satandpcguy.com/forum/sho...RTE-and-ITV1HD )
So it is a question of if the BBC channels will also follow suit, and when. There is some speculation that they may move by Wednesday next week!
But then, if / when they do, it will only be temporary until the new satellites are up and running, then its anyones guess as to what reception will be like
