ESPN was a European sports network, focusing on professional sports of the United States and Canada. Originally launched in December 2002 as NASN (the North American Sports Network), ESPN broadcasts a selection of top North American professional and collegiate sports leagues including Major League Baseball (MLB), National Hockey League (NHL), National Football League (NFL), National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and Canadian Football League (CFL).
The channel was known as ESPN America since 1 February 2009.
With the collapse of Setanta Sports, ESPN, managed to buy the Setantas share of FA Premier League matches. They also managed to secure a deal in partnership with Sky for Scottish Premier League matches.
On 1st August 2013 ESPN was bought by BT Sport and is now part of the BT Sport channel portfolio.
