Celebrity Traitors Series 2: Start Date Confirmed
The wait is almost over for fans of The Celebrity Traitors, with the BBC finally confirming when the second series will arrive on television.
The Celebrity Traitors Series 2 will begin on Thursday 1 October 2026 at 8pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
The opening episode will be an extra-long instalment, giving viewers plenty of time to meet the 21 celebrities heading into the Scottish Highlands and discover how Claudia Winkleman has selected her Traitors.
The new trailer has now been released, giving viewers their first proper look at the celebrity contestants as they prepare to enter the castle and take part in one of television’s most deceptive games.
When does The Celebrity Traitors start?
The second series begins at:
Thursday 1 October 2026 – 8pm
BBC One and BBC iPlayer
Unlike the first series, which quickly became one of the biggest television events of 2025, the new celebrity edition will run on Thursday and Friday evenings.
The contestants will once again be split between the Faithfuls and the secret Traitors, with the Faithfuls attempting to discover which of their fellow celebrities are secretly working against them.
There is also up to £100,000 to be won for the contestants’ chosen charities.
Who is in The Celebrity Traitors Series 2?
The second series has another seriously impressive celebrity line-up.
Among the 21 contestants are Michael Sheen, Maya Jama, Bella Ramsey, Richard E Grant, James Acaster, James Blunt, Miranda Hart, Joe Lycett, Rob Beckett, Romesh Ranganathan, Ross Kemp and Leigh-Anne Pinnock.
The full line-up also includes Amol Rajan, Jerry Hall, Joanne McNally, Julie Hesmondhalgh, King Kenny, Myha’la, Professor Hannah Fry, Sebastian Croft and Sharon Rooney.
With actors, comedians, presenters, musicians, sports personalities and online stars all thrown together, there should be plenty of opportunities for suspicion and backstabbing.
And, of course, nobody will know who Claudia has secretly recruited as the Traitors.
The Celebrity Traitors: Uncloaked returns
There is more Traitors action than just the main programme.
The Celebrity Traitors: Uncloaked will also return, with Ed Gamble back as host.
The companion programme will follow the main episodes, giving viewers somewhere to dissect the latest betrayals, murders, missions and round-table decisions.
Uncloaked will be available through BBC One, BBC iPlayer and BBC Sounds, giving fans another way to follow the celebrity version of the game.
That should make Uncloaked particularly useful for anyone who wants to hear more about what happened inside the castle without having to wait for the next main episode.
A new series of deception
The first series of The Celebrity Traitors became a huge success for the BBC, with its finale attracting a peak audience of 15.4 million viewers. The accompanying Uncloaked series was also a major success, averaging 14.9 million viewers according to figures reported by the BBC.
Now Claudia Winkleman is back, the castle is ready and 21 new celebrities are about to discover that fame won’t necessarily help them survive.
With the first episode arriving on 1 October at 8pm, fans don’t have much longer to wait to find out who Claudia has chosen as the new Traitors.
And this time, with Uncloaked returning alongside the main show, there should be plenty to discuss once the latest episode finishes.
