The Hot bird constellation of satellites are located at 13 degrees east of south, operated by satellite company Eutelsat.

Currently are are three satellites at 13 degrees east: Hotbird 6 (13A), Hotbird 8 (13B), Hotbird 9 (13C) and Hotbird 10 (13D).

With a launch mass of 4.9 tonnes, Hot Bird 8 is the largest and the most powerful broadcast satellite serving Europe.

These satellites are primarily used for transmitting to Europe. They transmits both free to air and pay TV channels. Many European countries use this satellite for their Pay TV services, including Sky Italia, Polands Cyfra+, and Greek Nova.

There are a few free English audio channels of interest on Hot bird, that you can view on any generic digital satellite receiver. These include BBC World News, Bloomberg UK, The God Channel, BBC Arabic.

Reception of Hot bird in Spain can easily be received on a 60cm satellite dish, a small sized dish.
