Additional / Extra / Secret Channels and Frequencies / Transponders For Sky TV and Freesat TV Satellite Receivers. Stronger frequency codes for UK Satellite TV Costa Blanca Spain!
There are many frequencies used for UK satellite TV (Sky TV) on the various Astra satellites (Astra 2a, Astra 2b, Astra 2D, Astra 1N and Eurobird 1) beams and footprints. Many of the available British television channels are already available on the Sky TV Electronic Programme Guide (EPG) and Freesat TV Electronic Programme Guide (EPG).
But you can add other UK television channel frequencies into a Sky box or Freesat set top box to receive other regional variations of BBC and ITV1 and Channel 4. This is very useful when trying to watch UK TV abroad and Sky TV in Spain and Freesat TV in Spain, where sometimes certain UK TV regions have weaker signals than others, and so channel reception can be lost.
Using these stronger frequencies for British Television on the Costa Blanca means that you can watch your favourite UK TV channels in Spain for longer, and in some cases on a small satellite dish!
There are some alternative frequencies that are used on the Costa Blanca Spain that allow you to view UK satellite television channels for a bit longer, when their normal frequencies are no longer available. These will help you view channels that normally show the message "No Satellite Signal being Received" on your Sky TV digibox.
Generally both Freesat and Sky TV receivers have all their channels in their Electronic Programme Guide (EPG) but in some cases "Alternate" or "secret" channels are available that you must add to the receivers manually.
So for example, to receive ITV1 for longer you can go to channel 993 - ITV1 London - (on a Sky receiver), or go to ITV Channel Islands (ITV 1 CI), or go ITV Mer SE (ITV1 Meridian South East), the last two may only be available by the "Other Channels" option available from the Services menu. This "additional" ITV frequency is not on the normal Astra 2d satellite, but on the Astra 2a North beam, which is a bit stronger then the Astra 2d signal footprint, and require a Sky freesatfromsky or subscription viewing card due to this satellite footprint being available over most of Europe.
Note that these "hidden" ITV frequencies are not expected to be available long term. They are only on this frequency, a fairly strong frequency in Spain, and encrypted, as there is not enough space available for them on the main satellite - Astra 2D - where all the other free (Freesat TV) ITV regions are. When space becomes available expect these ITV regions to move to the Astra 2d satellite, and therefore reception will be as the main ITV channels.
There are no secret or alternate frequencies for the BBC channels, as all channels are available on the EPG of both Freesat TV and Sky TV receivers. But you will find that some BBC TV regions reception in Spain will be better than other regions.

This process is how you can add other channels and other channel regions to your Sky box. You manually tune these channels and add them to your "other channels" listing on your Sky box.

How to get stronger frequencies for UK TV in the Costa Blanca Spain for ITV, Channel Four, and Five.
Here is a list of instructions as to how add these additional (Sky TV and Freesat TV) frequencies to your Sky Receiver in order so that you can watch your favourite ITV1, Channel 4 and Channel Five TV channels with these stronger signals
On your Sky remote control
Press Services
Press 4 (System Set Up)
Press 4 (Add channels)
and change the details as per below
Select Find Channels and Press Select
Press Yellow against the required channels to store (a tick will appear against the selected channels) and press Select.
(Note that on the new Sky HD EPG this process is slightly different to above)
To access these channels
Press Services
Navigate to Other Channels (the menu number will vary depending on software versions and receiver models)
Highlight the channels you want and press select.
"Stronger" and "Best" Alternate Frequencies for BBC 1 and BBC 2 for Sky TV in Spain and Freesat TV in Spain
All alternative BBC1 and BBC2 regions are available on Sky, Sky HD, Sky+HD, Freesat and Freesat HD channel lists already.
Therefore there is no reason to add or scan for other frequencies for BBC1 and BBC2.

ITV2 HD, ITV3 HD and ITV4 HD are only available on a single frequency and only on Sky HD boxes with a Sky HD subscription. So there are no other alternate ITV2HD ITV3HD or ITV4HD frequencies.

There are five regional variations of Channel Five.
Region 1: London
Region 2: South, Midlands, East, Wales, Northern Ireland
Region 3: North
Region 4: Scotland
Region 5: Scotland
All Channel Fives, Five* and Five USA are available on Sky, Sky HD, Freesta and Freesat HD receivers.
Channel Five HD is currently only available to be received ona SkyHD or Sky+HD digibox.
It is expected that Channel Five HD will be available to Freesat HD users in Summer 2012.

The Sky 3d TV Channel is not available to the public on their own personal Sky HD boxes. Although the Sky 3D TV frequency is active, it is pretty certain that the Sky 3D TV channel will only be available to those 9 pubs and bars that are part of this trail run. The full Sky 3d TV channel is expected to be made available to all Sky HD customers later in 2010.
BBC Sports Red Button Interactive Service Streams
To watch the BBC Sports Interactive service stream on Sky boxes
Recent frequency changes made by the BBC, mean that the BBC News channel is no longer available to Sky box users with small satellite dishes in Spain.
This means that the previous method of accessing the BBC Red Button Sports multiscreen streams (BBC News, Red Button, 3001, Select) is no longer available, as there is no BBC channel available on small satellite dishes to launch the BBC Red button functions.
But currently (1st October 2011) there is a workaround
How to access the BBC Sports Interactive streams on the new BBC TV frequency (Sky box setup instructions)
Here is the process that can currently be done so that you can access the BBC Sports stream on a Sky box using a small satellite dish.
At the moment (30/9/11) you can add the BBC Streams from the new BBC Sports stream frequency of 11954H.

press yellow next to the channel labelled as "6711 6712 6713 6714 6715" which will place a tick next to those channels.
Save
These stored channels will appear in the the Sky box's "other channels" list.
However, there will be video, but no audio.
So the current workaround is:
In the services menu, go to 4 systems set up,
then language and subtitles,
and change the Favourite language to anything other than English,
You can currently get audio on the new "streams", and its still fine on most of the other channels also
