No Channel Five / Channel Unavailable Message Costa Blanca Spain
Some people have been having trouble in being able to view Channel Five.
Sometimes when your select 105, there is a red "Channel Unavailable" message on the screen or the fact that Five does not even appear in the Sky Programme Guide.
This can be due to a few reasons:
If the message for Five is a red "Channel Unavailable", then:
make sure your sky card is in the correct slot of the box....the card must be in the "Viewing card" slot for Five to be added to the EPG listing...go to Sky1 and see the message...if it is "insert card" then your card is not or incorrectly in the slot.
Sometimes in the past when the box has rebooted after a software update....you will notice that this has happened as you will see that as well as not having Five your BBC1 and ITV 1 regions will be the default regions, BBC1 London and ITV1 Central SW.
When this has happens, unplug the box from the power, take out the Sky viewing card, reconnect power, reboot up the digibox (maybe doing the change default transponder frequency process to help the receiver boot up), get a picture, go to sky1, get the insert card message, insert card, wait, and you should get Sky1 and Five should have reloaded into the EPG)
If it is an "This is the wrong card for this set top box" message then maybe your card has gone to sleep - leave it in the digibox for up to 72 hours and it should reawaken.
If you have the message "no signal received" then there will be an issue with your system - dish, lnb, receiver, cable, connections etc
If it says "insert sky card" then you have the card in the wrong slot or possible the wrong way round.
If it says "this is the wrong card for this set top box" then your sky card has not been paired up to the box. normally this would not matter for the FTV channels (like Five) or the "6 mixes" channels, but would matter for sky sports and movies. However, it is also being used as part of the sky card change. the new cards must be activated in the correct box, and if you have this message for even Five, then it means that your new sky card has been sent to the uk address your sky card is registered. before you do anything with this new card you must call sky and get your card paired to the box...or call your installer who should have done all of this for you already....as you will not be able to view ANY sky / encrypted channels AT ALL!
Five is MOVING from Astra 2a to 2d - No Satellite Signal Being Received - Change of Frequency for some versions of Channel Five - Have you lost Channel Five ? Are you no longer receiving Channel Five?
August 18th 2009
Something is happening with Channel Five. Which may be why some of you are getting "No Satellite Signal" being received for Channel Five 105
If you have a Sky card registered in the Wales or West of England, then you may be experiencing difficulties in the reception of FIVE.
This is because the version of FIVE that serves this area has now stopped being transmitted from its "nice and easy Sky card" frequency of 12422H 27.5 2/3 and has been allocated the Freesat versions of FIVE - on 10773 H 22 5/6.
This means that this version of FIVE is only available as the same time as BBC2.
You can always programme into your "other channels" the other version of FIVE - 12422H 27.5 2/3 where there are still 3 other UK version of Five - North East and South.
Could this be the first stage of FIVE becoming totally Free to Air (as I have mentioned a few times before)in conjunction with the UKs Digital Switch over process??
