Tucked away in the inland hills of Valencia lies one of the region’s most refreshing hidden gems — the natural swimming pools of Bolbaite. Formed by the clear, cool waters of the Río de Bolbaite (also known as the Río Sellent), this peaceful spot offers a completely different experience to the busy coastal beaches.

While coastal towns like Gandia and Denia are known for their beaches, places like Bolbaite show a completely different side of the region. Located in the La Canal de Navarrés area, the village is surrounded by hills, forests, and river valleys.

The river itself runs through limestone terrain, creating not only pools but also small cascades and scenic viewpoints along the route.

It’s this mix of water, rock, and greenery that makes the area feel more like a mountain retreat than a typical Mediterranean destination.
