Sky Sports Secures Ryder Cup Rights Through 2029
Sky Sports has strengthened its position as the premier destination for golf coverage in the UK and Ireland by securing exclusive broadcast rights to the Ryder Cup until 2029. The renewed agreement extends its long-standing partnership with the DP World Tour and ensures fans can continue enjoying some of the sport’s most dramatic moments on Sky Sports and NOW.
The new four-year deal begins in 2026 and guarantees coverage of the 2027 Ryder Cup at Adare Manor in Ireland, followed by the 2029 edition at Hazeltine in the United States. Beyond the Ryder Cup, the agreement includes exclusive rights to the DP World Tour’s global schedule, including all Rolex Series tournaments spanning more than 25 countries.
This renewal comes at a time when golf has never been more popular on Sky. The 2025 Ryder Cup drew record-breaking viewing figures, with around five million people tuning in across the weekend. The Sunday singles session reached a historic peak for Sky Sports Golf, capturing roughly a quarter of all UK TV viewers at the time. Notably, younger audiences played a major role, with over 40% of under-35s watching live. Digital engagement surged as well, with tens of millions of social views and strong performance on Sky’s website and mobile app.
Sky Sports executives highlighted that the Ryder Cup continues to be one of the most compelling sporting events in the world, and the success of recent coverage reflects growing demand for in-depth golf storytelling. Leadership at the DP World Tour praised Sky’s ability to bring the sport to life for both long-time fans and new audiences, emphasising how the broadcaster’s reach and production quality have helped elevate the global profile of the Tour.
For fans, the extension means stability and continuity. Sky will remain the home of major DP World Tour events, providing comprehensive live coverage, expert analysis, and digital content across platforms. With younger viewers increasingly consuming sports through streaming and social media, Sky’s strong digital numbers suggest the broadcaster is well-positioned for the next chapter of golf broadcasting.
Ultimately, this renewed deal is more than a simple rights extension — it’s a statement of confidence in the growing appeal of golf. Sky Sports is doubling down on one of its flagship properties and reinforcing its commitment to bringing the drama, emotion, and rivalry of the Ryder Cup to millions of households for years to come.
