The BBC and ITV have agreed coverage schedule for matches in this years Football World Cup.

England’s opening match of the World Cup against Iran in November will be broadcast live on

BBC1.

The BBC got the right to choose two of England’s three group games and have opted for their opening fixture against Iran on November 21 and their final game against either Wales, Scotland or Ukraine.

ITV will show Englands second group game against the USA, and both the last 16 and quarter-final ties should Gareth Southgate’s side progress to the knockout stages.

The BBC will show England’s semi-final live if they repeat their run to the last-four in Russia four years ago, with ITV getting the other semi final game.

The final will be screened on both channels.

ITV will also show the USAs game against either Wales, Scotland or Ukraine.

Elsewhere in the tournament the BBC will show all three of Belgium’s group matches and two of France’s, while ITV have got two Brazil games.
