Where has Wordle gone?
When The New York Times bought popular puzzle game Wordle to host it on its own website, you could still access it through the original link set up by its creator, Josh Wardle. Players could keep their win streaks and avoid the invisible ad tracking software on The New York Times’ website.
However, the original Wordle website is no more, as some of yo may have found out, and you are getting an error message when trying to access your original Wordle link and app.
This is because, from the 9th June 2022, the original Wordle link and app will be shut down by The New York Times.
As of June 9, The New York Times website will be the only place to play Wordle.
If you are using Android m, then you can access Wordle by using the following steps:
– Open Google Chrome
– Navigate to https://www.nytimes.com/games/wordle/index.html
– Tap on the overflow menu (three dots) in the upper-right corner
– Select Add to Home screen
– Tap Add
That’s it, Wordle will now appear on your home screen as a “shortcut” just like any other app.
There is one caveat : it won’t bring over your current streak.
