Final BBC SD channels on frequency 10818 moved
BBC Channels Transponder Change
The following BBC SD channels
BBC News
BBC Two England
CBBC
BBC Three
have moved from
frequency 10.818 V, 22.000, 5/6, DVB-S, QPSK
to their new frequency 12.422 H, 27.500, 2/3, DVB-S, QPSK.
Freesat SD and Sky SD box users the change will have been done automatically.
If you are using another satellite receiver, or TV with built in satellite recevier, and want to continue watching these BBC SD channels, then you will need to perform a channel scan on their new frequency.
Note that this new 12.422 frequency will carry BBC SD channels until March 2024. After this date BBC channel will only be available in HD.
With no channels on 10818, this has cleared the way for it to be converted to DVBS2 to carry BBC HD channels.
Which happened later today.
10.818 V 23000 DVB-S2 8PSK
And looks like BBC One East Mids HD is currently testing on that frequency.
Expect a few more BBC One HD channels to appear on that frequency in readiness for the next phase of BBC One SD to HD swap on Monday 30th January 2023
Update: A quick check of the signal levels for the newly HD configured 10.818 V 23000 DVB-S2 8PSK, and it appears to be of similar levels to 10847 V, which carries the “non region” BBC One HD channel (along with BBC Two HD, BBC One Northern Ireland HD and BBC Two Wales).
So from this, if you can currently receive BBC Two HD, on your Sky or Freesat HD box on 102, then it looks like you should be able to receive all the other BBC One HD regions when they swap.
