Lost Sky News on UK satellite? Where is why…
Free to air Sky News has today changed its satellite frequency.
This should not affect people using a Sky HD digibox or Freesat set top box.
But if using a TV with built in satellite receiver, or a “generic” free to air satellite receiver,
then you may have lost reception of Sky News.
This is because it has changed frequencies today.
And you will have to perform a channel rescan to be able to receive Sky News on its new frequency.
Sky News old frequency was 12.070H SR 27500 FEC 5/6 DVBS QPSK
Sky News new frequency is 11.934V SR 27500 FEC 5/6 DVBS QPSK
About Sky News
Sky News is a British 24-hour television news channel that is free to air in standard definition across the UK, available on platforms such as Freeview, Freesat and satellite. It launched in February 1989, becoming the UK’s first dedicated rolling news channel and marking a major shift in how television news was delivered to British audiences. From the outset, Sky News focused on live reporting, breaking news and on-the-scene coverage, helping to set the template for modern broadcast journalism in the UK.
Over the decades, the channel has covered major global and domestic events, from general elections and royal occasions to international conflicts and major breaking news stories. In 2018, Sky News was acquired by Comcast as part of its takeover of Sky, but the channel retained its editorial independence under a long-standing agreement designed to protect impartiality.
Sky News is known for its mix of rolling news, in-depth analysis and specialist reporting, including political, business and international coverage. It has also invested heavily in digital platforms, with live streaming and online clips reaching audiences beyond traditional television.
Well-known presenters associated with Sky News include Kay Burley, known for her breakfast and political interviews, Sophy Ridge, a prominent political journalist and interviewer, Mark Austin, a former lead anchor, and international correspondent Alex Crawford. Together, they have helped establish Sky News as a major and influential voice in UK broadcasting.
