ITV HD channel changes coming soon on satellite TV ?
It looks like something may be happening with some ITV HD channels soon.
This afternoon some ITV HD channels have appeared on other satellite frequencies on the Astra 2 UK TV satellites.
All the ITV HD channels on frequency
11.068 V (Anglia East, Border England, Yorkshire East, ITV4, ITVBe, STV West and UTV) have now been copied now also appear on frequency 11.386 V SR 27500 FEC 2/3 DVB-S2 8PSK
And all the ITV HD channels on frequency 11.097 V (Meridian SE, Meridian South, Yorkshire West, Anglia West, Central East, Border Scotland and ITV3) have now been copied now also appear on frequency 11.344 H SR 27500 FEC 2/3 DVB-S2 8PSK
My initial signal scans show that these potentially new ITV HD frequencies are slightly stronger than the current ITV HD frequencies.
Most channels on the new frequencies are active and showing content
Why are they doing this? I have no confirmation.
Could they be moving to a better transponder with a bit more capacity to move the three ITV1HD regions (Central West on 12.168V, Meridian East on 12.226H, and London on 12.363V ) that are currently transmitting on the weaker “borrowed” Sky frequencies? If so that would be good news for people in my service area with a 125x135cm satellite dish as it would mean reception of these three regions is much improved.
If there are any changes, then Sky HD and Freesat HD boxes will automatically update…and users with any other types of receivers will have to perform a manual channel search…whatever and whyever these changes are…
ITV broadcasts via the Astra 2 satellites. Currently there are three Astra 2 satellites, Astra 2e, Astra 2f and Astra 2g, that are providing coverage across the UK and parts of Europe. These satellites deliver ITV’s channels, including HD versions, to millions of viewers, ensuring reliable access to popular programs like “Coronation Street” and “Britain’s Got Talent” even more immersive.
Although I have ITV1HD, I can’t receive ITV2 HD since it moved. I tried adding transponders for 11.386 V SR 27500 DVB-S2 and also setting the symbol rate to 27502 as was specified elsewhere, but when I do a manual scan, no channels are added. I have an LG TV with in-built satellite decoder.
ITV2 HD is on 11386 H (not V), DVB-S2 8PSK 27500 2/3.
But then even if you had put the V instead of the H, it should have picked up the ITV HD channels inc ITV 4 HD that are on that frequency.
So strange your is not picking it up, unless it needs the FEC also?
